Snowsports Planning Supervisor

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Snowsports Planning Supervisor is responsible for the operational planning of the snowsports school for Aosta/Pila and Gressoney preparing the groupings for the schools & college groups.

They will review the resort reports and snowsports school requests and look at the planning and building of the snowsports school.

The Snowsports Planning Supervisor will review instructor numbers, create a plan on the allocation of number of instructors based on client ski and snowboard ability levels and will then communicate with the party leaders to finalise arrangements and confirm groupings.

They will confirm the Italian instructor names from local ski schools. They will allocate students to instructor groups and then complete lunch allocations and timings ensuring that instructors have a fair allocation of levels of groups during their contracted weeks with Interski. Once allocated they will provide the local ski school with the snowsports school grouping information sheet which confirms levels and timings for the week.

The Snowsports Planning Supervisor will prepare the snowsports school presentation evening run around plan ensuring that instructors can be dropped off at their client’s hotel to deliver the après ski event. They will also assist with a runaround or attend the presentation evening to ensure the presentation evening runs well.

When there are more than 15 part-time live-in instructors per week in Aosta, they will book restaurants for them for their evening meals.

The Snowsports Planning Supervisor will meet the party leader on arrivals day to reconfirm snowsports school groupings for the week ahead and introduce them to the Snowsports Operations Supervisor who would be looking after them on the hill.

They will also create and update the Snowsports WhatsApp groups per week ensuring that all confirmed instructors appear in the group.

The Snowsports Planning Supervisor will work very closely with the Snowsports Operations Supervisor who is responsible for the operational delivery of the snowsports school in Aosta/Pila and a handover needs to take place on Friday of each week.   They will assist on the hill on certain days with snowsports check out, be on hill and on call during the day, and assist with snowsports check in.

They will also assist in ski hire on arrivals day and during the week when required, such as Friday afternoon.

Supervisors are expected to remain available to both their team and clients at all times, primarily via phone, to provide support and guidance should any issues arise in resort—attending in person if the situation requires it, regardless of the time of day or night.

Given the seasonal nature of the role, team members are expected to work up to a five-month period with one scheduled day off per week. The workdays can be long and physically demanding, often in varying weather conditions.
