Resort Driver

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Resort Driver will be required to carry out the majority of Airport Transfers and general driving from nearby airports (Turin, Milan Malpensa, Geneva) and within the Aosta Valley.

This may involve some very early starts and some late nights. You will work very closely with the Resorts Manager – Transport & Logistics and Holidays Department as the majority of transfers you undertake will be for those clients coming and going on a Ski Holidays package.

This may involve ski fitting them, getting them on the hill, dropping them at their hotel, informing them of their welcome meeting or helping them with any other requirements that they may have.

There is also a requirement for a lot of in resort driving which can involve driving clients, instructors or Resort Team staff between hotels and resorts. You will be required to help with any driving training as well as helping to maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of resort vehicles.

Should the driving requirements be low, you will then be required to support the Resort Assistant team which includes various duties that you can find more detailed on the list below.

The Resort Driver MUST hold a full valid driver’s licence, be willing to drive a manual vehicle, 2 seater to 9 seater vehicles and you MUST be over the age of 21 years old due to insurance reasons on vehicles. Remember, you would be working in the Alps therefore you must be prepared to drive in all weather conditions.

REQUIREMENTS

  • EU Passport or Right to Work in Italy (e. Permesso di Soggiorno) – ESSENTIAL
  • Criminal Record Disclosure / DBS / Police Check - ESSENTIAL
  • Over 21 years old – ESSENTIAL
  • Driver’s licence & willingness to drive manual vehicles in resort (2 seater/5 seater/9 seater) –ESSENTIAL
  • Fluent in English - ESSENTIAL
  • Willingness to learn Italian/French (Aosta Valley) – DESIRABLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out airport transfers from/to Turin, Milan Malpensa, Geneva airports
  • Carry out in resort movements within the Aosta Valley
  • Whilst on airport transfers or in resort movements there may be a requirement to deliver a welcome meeting to the clients and arrange the ski fit for them
  • When not on an airport transfer or in resort moment, perform the Resort Assistant role doing ad hoc duties such as:
    • Ski Hire
      • Assisting in ski hire on arrivals day (fitting boots, poles, skis etc)
      • Assisting in ski hire in the mornings and afternoons (when clients come through the building)
      • Ski Hire shift (normally one shift per week in the ski hire building and tasks include pre fitting, cleaning, sorting etc)
      • Assist the rental wear department in the preparation, delivery, collection and turning over rental wear (ski jackets, ski trousers, helmets)
    • On Hill
      • Welcoming clients at the gondola station
      • Advising clients to keep safe when crossing the piste
      • Assistance at check out in the mornings
      • Assisting clients on chairlifts on the first day or two
      • Responding to radio calls whilst on the hill which could be for a change of equipment
      • Assistance at check in in the afternoons

STAFF PACKAGE

  • Contribution towards travel expenses at the start and end of the season
  • Training programme delivered at the start of the season
  • Accommodation (maximum twin share in a hotel or apartment)
    • Option to live out and an allowance of £400.00 per month offered
  • Meals (lunch provided during the season)
  • Uniform (ski jacket and ski trousers & off hill trousers & polo)
  • Lift Pass
    • Aosta/Pila staff will receive a season pass for Pila, Crevacol & Cogne
    • If required to work in another resort, a daily or 5 day lift pass will be provided
  • Equipment (skis/poles/boards/boots if required)
  • Insurance (travel, medical and public liability)
  • One day off per week
  • On snow training offered ad hoc over the season
  • Pre-agreed time off during the season (non-peak weeks only) to attend snowsports courses
  • Staff Engagement Programme (employee of the month and social events)
  • Competitive wages of £1000 pcm working on a contractor basis

WHERE YOU CAN DO THIS ROLE

Our full time Resort Driver is employed to work in the Aosta Valley, Italy and work carried out in Aosta/Pila with ad hoc requirements to work in our other resorts of La Thuile, Courmayeur and Gressoney.
