Ski & Snowboard Instructor

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Interski are looking for many ski instructors and limited snowboard instructors to join us on a part time, week to week basis, between December and April, with more opportunities over the peak weeks in February and Easter. Our part time instructors will work across the resorts of Pila, La Thuile & Gressoney.

Our season is broken down into weeks and each week you would teach 24 hours of lessons over 5 days, 5 days of lunch time supervision, plus you are required to attend a Sunday evening instructor welcome meeting, morning briefings and you are required to attend a snowsports school presentation on one evening.

Our instructors will be teaching our clients from the Schools & College market, approx. 12-16 year olds with a high percentage of our clients being new to skiing.

Whether you are an instructor new to teaching, wanting to further your qualifications, or wanting to spend some season in the Alps to meet friends or other likeminded instructors, Interski is the perfect place for you.

REQUIREMENTS

  • EU/UK Passport or Right to Work in Italy (via residency or work visa)
    • UK Passport holders will be working within the 90/180 day allowance
  • Minimum of a Level 2 Ski/Snowboard Qualification
    • e.g., BASI, IASI, CSIA, NZSIA, APSI etc.

  • Instructor Membership Card (in date to cover the current season)
    • For example, this could be a physical card or electronic card, or it could be a QR code
  • Criminal Record Disclosure / DBS / Police Check
    • Enhanced DBS for UK residents/citizens which Interski would assist with
  • First Aid Certificate (if a requirement of your instructor governing body)
  • CPD (if a requirement of your instructor governing body)
    • For example, some governing bodies require instructors to revalidate their qualification every 3 years
  • Fluent/Conversational in the English language

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend Sunday evening briefing and daily instructor briefings
  • Deliver 24 hours over lessons of 5 days. Lesson times may vary from 09:30-15:30 or 10:00-16:00 with an hour allocated to lunch/breaks
  • Supervise the students during their lunch hour/breaks
  • Attend the snowsports school presentation event, normally on a Thursday evening at the client’s hotel

STAFF PACKAGE

  • Free coach transport from/to UK/Italy or contribution towards travel expenses to make your own way to resort
  • Accommodation (hotel, max triple share)
  • Meals (from Sunday evening to Friday evening – breakfast (at hotel) lunch (on mountain with group) and dinner (tokens to eat at local restaurants)
  • Uniform (ski jacket and ski trousers)
  • Lift Pass (5 day lift pass)
  • Equipment (skis/poles/boards/boots if required)
  • Insurance (travel, medical and public liability)
  • On-snow training (offered at least once per week)
  • Days off (Saturday & Sunday) when working consecutive weeks & providing your own meals on Saturday for lunch and dinner and on Sunday for lunch
  • Competitive wages of £350.00 pw working on a contractor basis
  • Option to live out for the week/s (source your own accommodation and own meals) and receive a set live out allowance of £150.00 pw

WHERE YOU CAN DO THIS ROLE

Our part time instructors are employed to work in the Aosta Valley, Italy working in the ski resorts of Pila, La Thuile & Gressoney.
